Vlogging: If blogging is a contraction of Web log then vlogging is mashing the word “video” in there. It can range from episodes posted to sites like YouTube and Revver to companies that are producing their own content. Podcasting: When Apple unveiled the iPod Internet audio took off. You don’t need an iPod to listen to a podcast; they’re all available online and can be downloaded to a wide variety of digital audio players.

Eisnor refused to disclose the number of users or revenue though she did say Platial "almost broke even" in January and February by creating custom mapping tools for corporations. Platial will abandon that custom-development business in favor of advertising sales. To spread the use of Platial's technology the company is forging relationships with popular social networking sites like Friendster and blogging sites TypePad and WordPress to offer MapKit which allows anyone to offer mapmaking capability on their own Web site. That has the potential to spread MapKit still further and increase locations where advertisers can reach well-defined audiences. Since introducing MapKit in November Platial "places" now appear on more than 10000 sites across the Web. Platial has launched itself very early into "an extremely untapped market for local advertising" said investor Ron Conway a well-known Silicon Valley figure and early investor in Google Inc.
