MySpace Users Learn Harsh Reality
WebProNews – Apr 11, 2007
My blog is hosted on. com and I have the same issues the MySpace folks are seeing (the free service where my blog is hosted right now which is different from the software that you host on your own servers). The thing is when a company is hosting your stuff for free they need to see some way to make money off of the service… The thing is when a company is hosting your stuff for free they need to see some way to make money off of the service. This isn’t going to be free with no ads forever and ever. And it certainly would piss me off if I worked on Wordpress. com if someone came along and made money from my user’s photos and videos. If you want to avoid these issues there’s really one choice: pay for your site’s own hosting and build your own traffic. ne reason to join services like MySpace and Wordpress. com is that there’s a built-in level of traffic —.
SES – SE Through Blogs and Feeds
WebProNews – Apr 12, 2007
Use tags so that your blog software will have a page for that tag and rank in search engines for that tag. You should try to have a cool title but an SE-perfect title tag. There’s an “SE Title Tag” plugin for WordPress that lets you customize those which is great (must install!) you can assign any unique URL a unique title tag. Already most useful SES session I’ve ever attended. You can create tag conjunction pages combining multiple tags for great SE. Says you should do what ProBlogger does putting featured posts in blocks at the top of the page. Don’t use “permalink” to link to your post use the title (unless you want to rank well for permalink dope).
Globe and Mail Update
Globe and Mail – Apr 11, 2007
While Lotus Notes didn’t take over the world it became popular enough for IBM to buy it in 1995. Now more than a decade later the company which has largely shed its reliance on hardware sales and become more of a service-oriented company has launched a suite of social software to help companies make better use of their employees’ knowledge and skills. Lotus Connections IBM’s new product takes some of the most popular Web-based social networking services such as MySpace (one of the world’s largest online networks) Facebook (primarily aimed at college students) WordPress (a blog creation tool) and Delicious (a social bookmarking service) and tries to reproduce their social benefits in an all-in-one package that companies can use on their internal networks. The suite helps employees create online profiles for themselves that list their interests or areas of expertise; lets them set up online workgroups based around a particular project or topic; helps them set up internal blogs where they can write about their interests and post comments on other blogs; and store and share their browser bookmarks and favourite sites. Lotus Connections is part of a growing movement that some are calling Enterprise 2. in which companies try to use Web-based or Web-like software to foster a more collaborative atmosphere among their employees.
Net Native: Seattle’s neighborhood blogs are quite good
Seattle Post Intelligencer – Apr 11, 2007
The beauty is that anyone can do it including you. Check out Blogger WordPress and TypePad for starters or warm up with a personal blog on Seattle’s own LiveJournal. It’d be nice of course if you had something interesting to say. But it’s not a requirement. Even if you can’t spell can barely write and post nothing but rambles about your cat’s sleeping habits only your mother-in-law would bother to read there is a place for you in the blogosphere. Not because it wants you necessarily.
5 Ways Jesus Would Promote Himself in the 21st Century
Marketing Pilgrim – Apr 11, 2007
jpg” ;>The first thing Jesus would have to do is set up that blog. I’d have him get started using. After setting up the proper categories and options (for instance fixing the permalinks option) we’d have to install several plug-ins to ensure his new site gets indexed properly by the search engines and acts a little more user friendly:Making sure his.
About Google Website ptimizer
WebProNews – Apr 11, 2007
It rivals Google’s product page in terms of quality information and useful tips. There you will find a webinar a white paper a podcast and even a WordPress plugin. The source of this information is an Authorized Google Website ptimizer Consultant. This tool will do all of the heavy lifting but your results will only be as good as the design and copy that you are testing. As Bryan Eisenberg of Future Now says "being able to test is only half the story. " Your results will only be as strong as your weakest link so this tool is no substitute for good copywriting and design skills.
