Apparently after being goaded in the House by Henare about his break-up with his wife and only a week after Mallard’s father died Mallard invited Henare into the lobby – where Mallard proceeded to clonk Henare. bviously never a good look and an unbefitting loss of composure for Mallard and yes a bad role model to boot but I can understand why the guy might have snapped.
